The term logistics was born in the military context to indicate that section which deals with organizing, in particular, the transport and distribution of supplies, materials needed and ammunition, providing also for maintenance and repair easier.
In the field of business management logistics is the discipline that deals mainly perform three functions:
• Materials management (procurement of raw materials and components)
• Production management (planning, manufacture, assembly and control)
• Distribution Management (handling, storage, transport, packing, shipping and receiving, after-sales service to customers)
The basic objective of this discipline is to ensure the highest level of customer service, providing high quality products with fast response times and low costs.
At present the current developments of electronic commerce, seen as the last opportunity by making available competitive companies operating in the field of information technology, have enabled businesses to achieve amazing goals: reducing the time of movement and gathering information on needs, tastes and customer’s needs; greater satisfaction with the drastic reduction of waiting times and lead time both supply and distribution.
Companies operating in sectors such as clothing (eg Zara, Benetton, H&M), consumer electronics and publishing (see Amazon) have failed to register a neckline increase in sales, obtaining and managing to maintain an advantage competitive than ever before.
The spread of purchases and sales online has generated a surprising request by multinationals, professional experts in logistics, in a perfect union, able to manage and make the most of computer skills, economic and engineering management and those more practices made more distinctive experience in the field.
The active functions are now: Responsible Transport, Responsible for logistics platform, Head of Distribution Logistics, Logistics Manager of establishment, Group logistics director, Supply Chain Manager, Supply Chain Director. The touch-digit annual salaries that, in order for the above mentioned figures, ranging between 35.000 and 150.000 Euros for year.

Francesca Granatiero nasce a San Giovanni Rotondo, classe 1988. Frequenta il Liceo Scientifico a Manfredonia per poi intraprendere, conseguito il diploma, la facoltà di Ingegneria Gestionale presso il Politecnico di Bari. Iscrittasi al corso di Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria Gestionale presso lo stesso Politecnico di Bari consegue il titolo di Esperto in sistemi (SGA) per la gestione delle PMI. Diventa referente e scrittrice per la rivista Close-up Engineering nel settembre 2014 ad oggi. Consegue la laurea in Ingegneria Gestionale Magistrale nel dicembre 2015. Pur avendo un’impronta scientifica e assorta nell’ affascinante mondo dell’ingegneria, è molto appassionata di letteratura classica. D’indole “sognatrice” nel tempo libero ama leggere e viaggiare.
